Role Overview
We are seeking a Senior Automation Engineer ( 9 years of experience) to design, build, and maintain web automation frameworks, with a strong emphasis on Python-based automation using Playwright. This role is critical to improving product quality and enabling faster, more reliable releases across our web platforms.
A key focus of this role is to quickly and independently drive the migration of existing Cypress (JavaScript) framework to Python-based Playwright, delivering a stable, scalable, and maintainable automation solution. You will play a critical role in modernizing test infrastructure and ensuring seamless integration into CI/CD pipelines.
The ideal candidate brings hands-on expertise in Playwright and API automation, along with experience working in cloud and containerized environments (AWS, Docker). This is a hands-on role with strong technical depth, partnering closely with QA, development, and DevOps teams to drive high-quality automation practices.
Key Responsibilities

- Quickly and independently drive the migration of Cypress (JavaScript) frameworks to Playwright (Python), including refactoring test suites, utilities, and CI/CD integrations
- Build and execute end-to-end test suites across multiple browsers (Chromium, WebKit, Firefox)
- Utilize Playwright features such as auto-waiting, network interception, and tracing to improve test stability and debugging
- Architect scalable automation solutions that reduce regression time and improve release confidence
- Develop and maintain API automation tests to support integration and end-to-end validation
- Integrate automation into CI/CD pipelines for continuous testing and faster feedback cycles
- Execute tests in AWS environments and support Docker-based containerized test execution
- Troubleshoot test failures and improve overall test reliability and performance
- Collaborate closely with QA, development, and DevOps teams
- Support and mentor junior engineers
